the junky

i think fashion week is gay along with every other fashion show by these big named designers. no one wears this crap because no one can afford it. such a small percentage of people actually shop at nordy or saks for clothes. and even then most of the shit you see on the runway isn’t even offered at those stores. you have to shop at the really specialty stores that cost more than saks, which an even smaller percentage of the population shop at. they need practical fashion shows for the average person buying clothes at a mall. the only show i’ve seen that is worth the effort and hype are victoria's secret shows. not only for the obvious reason of a bunch of guys sitting around the tube with drool hanging out of their mouths, but also because girls actually wear that crap. it’s not some half open see-through blouse that is the most impractical article of clothing even sewn together. chicks don’t wear that crap. and don’t get me wrong, i wish they would. it just doesn’t happen though. fashion shows are just a way to get a bunch of celebrities to get together, so that media will show up to fill the publicity hungry designers’ pocket books. or i could be wrong. please correct me if i am.

it’s no mystery that i want senator clinton to run for and win the ’08 presidency. but as far as her running mate, i have two choices. the first is completely out of this world and would never happen in a million years, but would be amazing in respect to ending all of this partisan bullshit, and that would be senator mccain. of course he’d never be up for agreeing to such a whack combination, but it would be amazing for this country. and he'd have a great chance of taking over the helm after clinton is done. more realistic though, i think senator obama should be her choice. he’s young, promising, black, and well respected so far as freshman senator. some might say that it would be hard to pick up the southern votes with a black man running, however, i think it would bring out african americans to the polls in droves. so, clinton-obama ’08 baby!

i’m sick of hearing people say, ‘it’s not a matter of if the terrorists will strike again, but when.’ i was sick of hearing this immediately after 9/11 and i’m sick of it now. not to say that it might not happen again, but i think it was just some stupid phrase that the administration fed us, so that it would cover their asses if it did happen. i realized back then that there were good chances it might not happen again and that we’d take them all out and kill them. and i still think there is a good chance that we won’t be attacked again by al qaeda. saying stuff like that makes people fearful and is a copout for when it happens again. so if it does, the dems will say, ‘bush sucks because he couldn’t prevent another attack,’ which i might agree with. bush will then say, ‘well, i never promised it wouldn’t happen again. i always said it’s not if, but when.’ all it is is a good way to get out of people faulting his crappy decisions on protecting this country. like the tsa letting people back on with scissors and razors and knives. they just don’t get it.

what have i become? here are the highlights of my days in no particular order: getting the mail in anticipation of law school rejection letters, 4pm eastern on cnn to watch wolf in the situation room, six feet under when kim comes home, and that’s about it. fun day eh? and this is like five days a week of my life. oh wait, i also enjoy my 7pm eastern fix of cnn to watch wolf in the situation room. when i wake up at 10 each morning i’ll watch cnn international. when i get home from school at about 1:30 i’ll watch 'live from' on cnn. at night i’ll tune in and out of ac360 and larry king which gets repeated about thirty times throughout the evening until dawn. i have such a dull life and have become a cnn junky. but i really enjoy it. i love the news and politics now. but don't think this is all i do. seventeen credits is nothing to sneeze at. i go to school and come home and think about doing homework and something i actually do homework. takes up a lot of time. did i ever lay out my life plan for you? alright, here is the plan if i get into law school. i move, go, graduate, maybe get a job as a public defender or maybe get a job working for congress. after about five years of working, analyze my current situation and decide if there is something else i’d rather do. then do that. now if i don’t get into law school, possibly try and get a job in bennett’s office and if that happens, move to d.c. if that doesn’t happen, which it won’t, move to colorado and try and get a job working for the state legislature. and if that doesn’t happen, which it won’t, i have a ton of video games that i need to work on still. it’s a start i guess. some direction is better than none.

I agree about the TSA, we made it this long without taking our finger clippers on trips, why not just leave good enough alone?
